  23. to do with our redistribution policies, which have not changed.  Please
  24. don't start this one up again.  There are thousands of mirror sites for
  25. Kermit software, there are thousands of universities, government agencies,
  26. and corporations in which literally millions of people are using
  27. Kermit software internally without paying us a dime.  What's your complaint?

  30. There were more contributions in the past because the net used to be a
  31. hangout for techies who liked trading code.  The net has changed.  Now it
  32. is a commodity exchange.  Nobody gives away anything any more.  That's
  33. mainly because nobody can afford to -- the old subsidies are long gone.
  34. It's a different world.

  36. Personally, I would prefer to spend more of my time on design and
  37. development and less on fund-raising.  But I don't have a choice.
